Minnie Mouse - Quaker Crackels Cereal - Einson Freeman Co. Promotional Paper Mask (1933)

$350.00

One of the rarest and most charming early Disney premiums, this original 1933 Minnie Mouse paper mask was issued as a tie-in with Quaker Crackels cereal and created by the famed Einson Freeman Co. Just like the Mickey version, it was among the very first Disney promotional masks ever produced—released at a time when Walt Disney was just beginning to license his characters, only five years after Mickey’s debut in Steamboat Willie.

Minnie is shown here in her classic early design, complete with her flower-topped hat—a look she would evolve away from later in the 1930s, making this mask a striking relic of her earliest appearances. Distributed in cereal boxes or as send-away premiums during the Great Depression, these masks were meant to be cut out, worn, and discarded. Few survived intact, and complete, unpunched examples like this are especially desirable.
