Phony Face is the world’s first dedicated home for vintage advertising paper masks — quirky cardboard faces that once came tucked inside cereal boxes, handed out at grocery stores, or mailed to kids through long-forgotten promotions. From the 1930s through the 1990s, millions of these masks were printed… but only a tiny fraction survived.
We’re here to preserve them, celebrate them, and put them back in front of faces where they belong.

Who We Are
My name is Kelly Hutchison, also known in the art world as Dark Vomit. I’m a lifelong collector, artist, and historian of oddball Americana. My artwork has been sold through Christie’s, Julien’s, and other major auction houses, and exhibited across the U.S.
But long before that, I was fascinated by the cheap little paper masks that companies gave away as advertising. Over time, I built one of the most extensive collections of vintage advertising masks in the world — and now, I’m opening that vault through PhonyFace.com.

Why Trust Us?
Phony Face isn’t a faceless company. It’s me — a collector obsessed with these artifacts, who’s spent decades hunting them down, preserving them, and digging into their history.
Every vintage mask is authentic and guaranteed as described.
I provide detailed condition notes and provenance whenever possible.
If you’re unhappy, returns are easy. Collecting should be fun, not stressful.
My goal is simple: to preserve the history of these forgotten gems, and connect them with collectors, artists, and nostalgia-seekers who’ll appreciate them as much as I do.
