Francesco (Tom Arnold's Circus) - Kelloggs Corn Flakes Masks of Famous Clowns (1955) - backside (UK)
Issued in 1955 on the back of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes boxes, this vintage cut-out mask is part of the “Masks of Famous Clowns” promotion, available exclusively in the UK. This example features Francesco, one of Les Francescos, who performed with Tom Arnold’s Harringay Circus—a major London-based big top that ran from 1947–1959 and drew international acts to its massive arena.
The Harringay Circus was known as one of the most glamorous post-war productions, combining world-class acrobats, animal acts, and comedic clowns. Francesco, with his exaggerated bald cap, arched eyebrows, and distinctive smile, was one of the recognizable clowning faces of the troupe, making this mask both visually striking and historically important.
