Sylvester the Fox (Mighty Mouse Playhouse) - Post Sugar Crisp Cereal mask (1957) - backside

$150.00

This vintage mask features Sylvester the Fox, a supporting character from the Mighty Mouse Playhouse television era. Issued in 1957 on the backside of Post Sugar Crisp cereal boxes, it was part of a very limited six-mask set that tied into the popularity of Mighty Mouse and his Saturday morning companions.

The artwork captures the sly and slightly mischievous character with wide cartoon eyes, pointed ears, and a bold orange-and-gray palette. These masks were meant to be cut out by children, worn with string, and then discarded—making surviving examples extremely scarce. Unlike later Kellogg’s Hanna-Barbera promotions of the 1960s, the Post Sugar Crisp set was printed in smaller numbers.
