Singing Bird (The Indian Squaw) - Kelloggs Rice Krispies mask (1950s) - backside
This vintage “Singing Bird” mask was printed on the backside of Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal boxes during the 1950s. Part of the short-lived Rice Krispies mask series, it features bright, playful artwork designed to capture children’s imaginations while turning breakfast packaging into an interactive toy. Kids were encouraged to cut out the mask, punch the holes, and wear it using string, making these ephemeral pieces rarely seen today in good condition.
The “Singing Bird” character reflects Kellogg’s mid-century marketing approach, when cereal companies competed fiercely with colorful premiums and cutouts to build brand loyalty among children.
