Grizzly Bear - Kelloggs Corn Flakes mask (1954) - backside

$85.00

Original uncut Grizzly Bear mask issued on the back of a Kellogg’s Corn Flakes box in 1954. Measures approx. 8" × 11".

This fierce, wide-mouthed bear design was part of Kellogg’s mid-1950s push to turn cereal boxes into playthings. Children could cut out the masks, punch holes, and tie them on with string — making breakfast time double as a costume experience. Unlike many Kellogg’s promotional masks, which were cartoonish or theatrical, this one leaned into a bold, almost realistic animal design, meant to thrill kids at play.

Because most were cut up and discarded, uncut survivors like this remain scarce and highly collectible. It captures both the mid-century cereal premium craze and the 1950s fascination with wild animal imagery in children’s products.
