Blackie (The Cat) - Kelloggs Corn Flakes False Faces mask (1953) - cutout (UK)
$175.00
Straight from the scarce False Faces series issued only in the United Kingdom, this “Blackie the Cat” mask is one of the hardest-to-find animal designs. Cut directly from the back of a 1953 Kellogg’s Corn Flakes box, it features bold litho colors with wide, staring eyes and a mischievous grin — a classic example of Kellogg’s quirky mid-century marketing.
Unlike the more common U.S. cut-out masks, UK False Faces were distributed in far smaller numbers, and survivors are rare. This piece shows expected vintage wear consistent with its age but remains an excellent display item for collectors of advertising, cereal premiums, or early Halloween ephemera.
Measures approx. 8.5 inches by 7.5 inches.
