Yogi Bear - Kelloggs Corn Flakes Hanna Barbara mask (1961) - cutout

$40.00

Issued in 1961 by Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, this vintage cutout mask features Yogi Bear, one of Hanna-Barbera’s most enduring cartoon characters. Already a television favorite by the early 1960s, Yogi had become the breakout star from The Huckleberry Hound Show, even earning his own spin-off series in 1961—the same year Kellogg’s issued this cereal-box promotion.

These masks were designed for children to cut directly from the box and wear, blending breakfast-time fun with Saturday morning television culture. The bold litho colors and playful design of Yogi, complete with his trademark green hat and oversized bow tie, captured the character’s mischievous charm.

Measuring 8.5 x 8.5 inches, this example is a classic piece of mid-century advertising ephemera and a tangible link to Kellogg’s sponsorship of Hanna-Barbera programming. While Kellogg’s produced millions of cereal boxes, relatively few masks survived intact after being cut and worn by eager children.
