Br'er Rabbit (Walt Disney) - Wheaties Cereal mask (1951) - cutout
This Wheaties cereal mask features Br’er Rabbit, the mischievous trickster from Walt Disney’s 1946 film Song of the South. Issued in 1951 as part of the Walt Disney “Fun Mask” promotion, Br’er Rabbit was one of the more playful and expressive characters offered on the back panels of Wheaties boxes. Children could cut out the mask, string it up, and step into the world of Disney storytelling during breakfast.
Because most masks were cut and discarded after use, survivors like this cutout example remain highly collectible. While not as scarce as Dumbo or Pinocchio, Br’er Rabbit retains strong appeal due to his cultural history.
